more power

hey all new here, dont own a powerstroke myself, i have a duramax (please dont hate me) my buddy has a 97 f350 that hes looking to get a little more power out of. any suggestions? any free/cheap/simple mods? and what chip/programmer/ tuner would you suggest? i'm not real current on what the good powerstroke power mods are. little help for a duramax owner please!

exhaust, just gut the cat he can get a down pipe for like $90, a napa 6637 filter for an intake like $60, needs gauges for a chip, but the best power is a custom chip like tw, dp, php, swamps, beans....ect. tony wildman is my favorive. if its an auto his tranny will hate it. thats always the fist start

sound like hes got it covered better breathing and better tuning will get him some more power

yea he has an e40d tranny, which chip is least likely to kill it?

def custum tune i have a TW and love it but herd others are real good, id say eight around here have TW good customer service and very friendly, but with just a chip and hes not rompiong on it the tran will hold with shift kit and TQ my tan is holding good with my stage ones
