I am looking for an idm for my 97 F250. Its a 100 the # is F7TF-12B599-AA. What numbers can I use to replace mine. I also am wondering if a modded idm is something I should look into? Any help is appreciated.
I just ordered one from Auto Computer Exchange I told them I would be sending them a 100 volt ,but wanted to upgrade to a 120 volt. Cost was $275 shipped. ($249 for an even swap). Should be here today.(knocking on wood)
I'll have to look around, but there is a guy in FL that rebuilds them and resells them for like 120 + 100 core, includes a waybill to send back the core so its literally 120, and he'll trade a 140 for a 100.
I got a 120 and sent him back a 100 that looked like a bomb went off in it from the junkyard they gave me free, I fixed mine (corroded connector) so now I have a spare.
I got my 120 on Friday. Starts quicker, and throttle response is better, haven't noticed any more power, maybe a little more smoke at light throttle application(nothing to get in a twist about). Would have been nice to have saved a $100, but it's too late now.
what are the advantages to going to a newer/higher voltage idm?
