TW problems?
Ok so I sent my tuning out to be reburned for the new truck. Got it in the truck and immediately the tranny was slipping HARD. Put it in drive and it felt like I was starting out in 3rd gear (didnt want to move). Once I got going it didnt want to shift at all and stayed around 3,000 RPMs. Just a min or 2 of driving and tranny temps were around 280*. Stopped to let her cool and limped her home. Took tuning out and everything was back to normal. Is this my tranny not being able to hold the line pressure? Or something with the tuning. I asked Tony but everybody knows how hard it is to get ahold of him. (Not calling you out bud, youve got a great product and I know you have a lot going on.) The only thing im noticing now is it takes an extra couple seconds for the truck to get into gear when shifting into drive or reverse. Is this a bad sign?
thanks guys. Sorry for the long post. Also, again, this post is NOT meant to bash Tony. AS SOON as I e-mailed him about the problem he got right back to me asked to me send the chip back in. Im just looking for answers. |

stock tranny? with 1's and mods it might be slipping that is why i like a handshaker lol

yeah its stock. Im with ya on the 5 speed and I just sold the truck that had it
My only problem is there have been numerous people with more mods than me running stock tranny with no problems ( for a little while anyway lol). And I dont feel it slipping at all without the tuning. But you think it hesitating going into gear means slipping? I just need it to last until fall when work picks up

not real sure on that and it all depends upon the health of the tranny before modding took place

send it back.

I was told the tranny was rebuilt about 8,000 miles before I bought it but the guy was a sleezeball too so who knows. The chip is on its way back to tony as of this morning. Im just nervous now.

Send the chip back to Tony, and let him take a look at it to make sure nothing stupid happened to your tunes. If he doesn't find anything wrong with it, then worry about the trans in your truck. Also, make sure you gave him the proper PCM code. You never know, might have read it wrong, or Tony could have goofed when he took the order (Not calling you out Tony).
