never done one personally.. but i believe you have to finagel a sawzaw or something in there to cut it and pull it out in pieces. then you have to beat on the firewall to get a bigger DP in there.

Yep. You need to cut the top of the stock "down pipe" off (near the turbo) and sometimes down toward the bottom (although it's not always necessary) to get the original pipe out.
THEN, you have to beat, pry, cuss, and drink a bit while making enough room between the bell housing and the firewall so that the 3" pipe will fit. It's not fun. It's possible though. |

I was wondering the same thing about thw super duty DP on an OBS. I might try it when I send my turbo for a re-build. I know ill have to trim the firwall and bend it some more but I think the performance would be worth it. Also help with turbo spool and lower EGT's

honestly its not hard at all as long as you get a 2 piece downpipe and have a good sawzall blade, the hardest part is getting the old one out and you just make a few cuts in the lip of the firewal and bend it with a crow bar
i got mine from rpm outlet: http://www.rpmoutlet.com/powerpipee.htm even tho they are not a vendor devoted to diesel, i liked therip pipe because it allowsed me to hock up the factory cat to the downpipe using the existing flange should i ever fail emissions with out it. |

hey ryan thanks for info gonna get w/them i like your dually is it factory or did you put the duals on it my 96 4x4 is single rear & i want to put duals on it these models look bad w/ dosls havnt looked in to whats involved in process again thax john
