Helps in the mid to top end. Will notice a gain while towing also.

You can't just bolt on a 17* HPOP on a '95..you will have drain back problems. Pull your 15* pump and send it and the 17* pump to Gary at Stealth to have him mod it.

Joey at Terminator Engineering can also mod the 15° with 17° parts so that the drainback isn't a problem.

What does the mod consist of? Can i do it myself or is it for the pros?

It consists of getting a new HPOP, removing the old one, and installing the new. It can be done yourself if you have any mechanical experience at all, pretty straight forward.

What model year requires the bleed back mod? I have a 1997. Does that make a difference? Some people are saying that the mod is only for 95 and older models, how true is that? Just ordered my 17* pump today just want to make sure that i dont need to do anything special to the pump or housing before hand. Thanks guys!

You are good to go. Only the 94.5-95 trucks have the drain back problem.
