Is a coolant filter really neccissary on my truck? It says it removes the sand and such that runs through the engine and saves waterpumps and hoses. But I have 200k miles on the truck so i'd think what damage is going to happen already has, filtering it now wouldnt really save me anything would it?

Its $99 to put a filtration system on my truck. Is it worth it?

I think it would make it better, but its already made it 200k i would worry about it. Just save your money for something bigger.

Yeah this seems like a mod that would help when the truck is young. I am going to flush the coolant completely tomorrow and start over fresh, that is kind of why i was researching this. But I think i will just skip the coolant filters and save up

you can make one yourself for about 45 bucks, bought the parts a year ago to do both trucks, never got around to it. just need wix filter 2040 i believe and a filter base from ebay and some home depot brass fittings, thats it. it probably not nessecary but anyone who has replaced a water pump before knows that its money well spent, especially if you are going to keep your truck
