intake plenums

ok so i am wondering if anyone has taken their stock intake plenums and increased the size of the inlet pipe on them? i am considering doing this to make them the same size as the e-99 spyder which is 2.75. does anyone know if this would be a worthwhile mod. I have an extra set of plenums off of a 7.3 to play with so it would not cost me anything but some new 2.75 boots and clamps and a lil pipe.
input and ideas are welcome

I have my intercooler setup with the E99 spyder and I just kept my stock plenums. Just played hell getting the smaller boots over the E99 inlets. I do have a set of SD 3" plenums sittin in the garage that I plan on using when I have the time to install them.

IIRC the e99 plenums are the same size outlet as the obs, or am I completely wrong? The only reason I bought the SD plenums is because it is a 3 inch plenum which is larger than the obs

got my 3" ones from beansdiesel.com. they were fairly cheap. the e99 spyder should be th same size as the OBS plenums. if i remember right the e99 spyder i used to hav necked down from 3" to 2 or 2 1/4" watever OBS is.
