dp tuner questions

i have a 97 psd i have the dp tuner chip with 1-stock 2-lope 3-high idle 4-60 tow 5-80 economy 6-120 race i have not talked to the folks at DP yet but here is the deal the guy who did all my work (gauges exhaust and chip cheaper than i could order most of the stuff for) after firing up the truck for the first time with the chip it ran great in all settings except the 120 at about 16-1800 rpm it cuts in and out well i was told to change my oil and fuel filter first they needed it any way and then we would go from there i have done that and no difference i can run the truck on the highway in the 80E and it runs great all the power you could ask for i noticed today pulling an empty 25' gooseneck that in the 60tow setting it was really almost like stock but if i run it in the 60 setting with no load it runs great so i switched to the 80E setting just to see if there was a difference and it was like a totally different truck so i guess what im getting at is now it seems like i have two settings that are useless as far as the 120 seeting goes i never use it but i would like that option but it doesnt seem like a truck problem to me as good as it performs in the 80E setting

Sorry, I didn't see this until just now.

Before replacing anything you need to datalog what is going on at that particular time. To me it sounds like the ICP sensor, but I would check it out with a scan tool first.

Is it a CA truck? can't get over 50-60 HP on a 48 state truck as the inj's won't flow enough fuel.

thanks diane i actually sent jody this email too what is puzzling to me is why it would run so flawlessly on the 80e and just die on the 120 after we got everything on the guy who installed it ran a code scan and he said everything looked ok
