i have the oppertunity to buy one from a buddy.......brand new in the box for 275.....is it worth it or should i find something else

I absolutely thrashed two stock rated trannys with my evo. Under powered and over-rated. Three options... A: offer him $50 and use it for a code reader... B: Get a custom Chip... C: Both of the above.

I got one for christmas. I like it. I dont like the part that it doesnt do anything for shifting. But i dont hot rod my truck. It makes a difference when towing and such. I was towing my new 3 horse gooseneck and tried it with it on and with it off. Big difference.

If it is the edge evo II and you can get it for cheaper i would buy it and use it for gauges, thats what i was doing till some one decided they wanted it more then i did... all my electronics for that matter.

NO NO NO Evo. I had an Evo on my truck and is blew my old tranny. Its not worth the money at all.

exactly what happened to me, then i got custom tuned SCT and just used the Evo for gauges.

what kind of tranis did yall have i got the edge evolution and i got a manual trans ive only used it on the tow haul setting but i like it so far

they all had an auto trans
it won't hurt a manual cause you decide when to shift

If you have a manual then i would say the Edge Evo II is not too bad. I would probably still be running it if i didnt have an auto. there is only a slight differance between my custom tunes and the Edge.
