IDM Mod

To get a modded IDM I have to either
A: Mod mine(not smart enuff, not going to happen)
B: Buy a modded one (heard they are spendy)

I have done some looking on the subject and what the guys are doing is taking a #100 IDM (94-97 ps) and adding a resistor to make it a #140 correct?
The Super Duty IDM is a #120....will this plug into the early model ps or did i read wrong and they dont interchange? If they do interchange I would feel some gains going from the 100 to the 120 wouldnt I?
I guess what I am getting at is I can get one from an 02 SD #120 for cheap and want to put it in my 96, can it be done and will it hurt anything?
Thanks those who know!!!

a SD IDM is slightly better but not an insane difference. You can probably mod it. I am gonna try it but I do have a spare so i can mess up.

IDM Injector Drive Module........
Changing a reistor in it to bump it to 140v. Its holds the injector pulse width longer. 94-97(?) are 110v. 99-03 are 120v.
I currently have a 02 SD 120v IDM in my truck. I burnt my stock IDM up. Internals do not like heat!
Search for the IDM mod.

it allows them to pulse faster not stay open longer. The frequency mod that swamps does allows for a larger pulse width. the resistor mod just allows them to operate faster.
