Did I screw up????
I recently purchased & installed the 6 pos. tuner from bullydog, on the first install the stock setting wouldn't let the truck start & the 4th pos. ( 75 ) h.p. truck would barely run, sent it back to be re-flashed, re-installed, cranks on stock now, runs better on the 75 but still cuts out when she gets tached up. Its a 96 F-250, 150,000, have a dp, straight duals out the back, diy intake, fpr shim. Don't know a lot about chips/tuners & think I maybe should have went with something other than bullydog. Opinions & suggestions welcomed..thanks

If possible return it. then do some research on the TW, Dp 6 Position chips. you will be much happier.

It sounds like a bad connection possibly. But he's right, custom tunes are always way better.

you did screw up buying bully dog they havfe a great marketing team but that's it in my opinion, but its probably a bad connection that can be easily fixed. if you can send it back, get yourself a nice custom dp tuner from DP-Tuner for the same price, cant go wrong there

Agree with the others posting that you should return if possible and get TW custom tunes. However if not and if the Bully plugs into the PCM side socket do this. Pull out the PCM and open the case up. With a fine sharp screw driver scrap off the clear vinyl like coating between the silver/tin contacts on the board. Also clean the actual silver contact strips (with a fine scotch pad) making sure to only remove the vinyl residue and not any silver/tin material. Look on the Bully dog plug to make sure there is no Keerap in there too...

Yep... I agree with jcart and the other guys saying check connections. I have the same chip it sounds like. Except mine has 30,50,80,HI,and stock. I had the same issue. Turned out it was programmed to the wrong CPU code. I thought the contacts were clean and the vinyl was off them... I cleaned some more. The 2nd time I put a little dielectric grease on there and it's worked great ever since. The whole reason I bought the BD was cause I found a new one at $200 off the price and almost 400 cheaper than the TW I was going to get. From what it looks like... I should have saved for the Wildman. Although I am happy with it and had no problems since. It definitely isnt a "custom" feel, but it makes a difference
