help do mods in right order!
just picked up a 95 PSD, manual trans, 4.10 gears with 165k miles. All it has is straight pipe. It will be used primarily to pull 9000lbs 5th wheel.
Heres what I got planned; 1. Intercooler. Who can link me to a DIY link for a SD swap? help with egt and future stuff 2. Downpipe; will I gain anything? 3. Guages/chip. Best deal Ive seen is boost/pyro and pod for around $240. With a TW chip Im in over $600. Any bad reviews of the Edge CS? Edge is right down the road if I have problems Edge Products: Product 4. Injectors/turbo- Im open to suggestions here. I would love this thing to pull as good as my 6.7 Cummins I just sold. Thanks |

Definately do the down pipe. the stock one is a terrible restriction for letting the engine breath.
here is how I would go about this in order... Downpipe to go with your straight pipe Cold air intake gauges custom chip (tw or other) NO EDGE Since you are a manual trans you will need a clutch to hold this new power Intercooler Injectors |

if you get a tw you get free reburns!!! so why not also if it takes a while to get to the injectors you have power now

sounds good, why no Edge? Im assuming they have a cookie cutter tune?

yeah the edge tuners are nothing compared to custom tunes for a 7.3, and Id basically do everything in the order listed above, and the power level you want to acheive will tell us the right injector, turbo, HPOP, etc combo for you

Dont forget to do some E-fuel, bowl delete is always nice too.

I have the Edge Evo and I really like it, although i haven't had it very long. I pull around 7000lbs worth of trailer and horses most of the time and I have gained approx 2mpg with it on the 100hp/200ft.lb setting. No idea what the actual hp/torque gain REALLY was but the difference from stock is amazing.
You guys would recommend going away from the Edge to something else? |
