V-clamp Muffler?
I'm wondering if I can buy v-clamp ends to be welded on to my exhaust and muffler. I wanna set it up this way so that I can run straight exhaust with no muffler, then for emissions just to be safe, throw the muffler back on. This would seem to be the easiest and simplest way to do so, just switchout straight pipe with muffler.
Anyone here run anything like this? If so how do you like it and post a pic if you got it please. I like the sound of my Magnaflow muffler and it is straight through with baffle but wanna run straight pipe whether I gain anything or not, which I'm pretty sure I wont other than noise. |

I found these, seem to be about lowest price so far. Should work if just weld on the ends and then clamp together. I'll have to order 2 for complete install. Will make swapping out the muffler a sinch.

Nice set up....the other thing you could do is get some Stainless 4 inch wide band clamps and put in a muffler delete section of pipe....would be significantly less expensive and no welding...
Just wondering for emission testing noise is part of the testing? Where I live no testing at all.... jrc |

Yeah I think I'm gonna do what jcart just said. I should be able to pass, the 7.3L is not as noisy as the newer models from the exhaust even though the motor is louder. My motor is quite a bit quieter now with my oil cross over line installed.
