Well, that'll be tough here. The IDI motors have their own forum. The DIY intakes that we've set up on the Powerstroke motors, will be totally different from what you've got to work with.

Yep, the 6637 is a large filter, no doubt about it. But the intake is totally different on the IDI. (IDI is naturally aspirated)

BadF250Boy99, can you post a pic of your engine compartment? Might help us to brainstorm, and come up with a good/ acceptable DIY intake for your IDI.

he said his is turbo tho so it might be a little easier if he has the ats style intake and not the huge bowl on top

Ok, I take that back. He said his truck was a '94 IDI Turbo. So, it's not naturally aspirated.

What's your intake look like? Need pics. Found this, looks like you might be able to rig up a 6637 to it.

he guys.. sorry to hijack the thread!!! but you DIY guys.. i have my filter and waiting on the filter cover. im installing in my dads 95 and also a buddies 00.... what do i need to make it fit.. i have a 4'' piece of pipe but im not sure what to clamp it with.. i heard it needs to be pretty solid so it stays on... or will just another clamp like the one thats connect to the stock box work? sorry again to the OP...

All you should need is to big hose clamps and you will be fine. As big as the filter is its not going to move much.

i just got two 4 inch intercooler clamps, 1 4 inch intercooler boot and a 45 dgree elbow of 4 inch intercooler pipe for like 30 bucks on ebay, just had to do a litte trimming but it worked perfectly.
