Thumbs up Torque Converter Question?

Will a stock torque converter hold up if i get a suncoast rebuild kit for my e40d? And if it wont are there any upgraded ones that arent $1200?

It was the torque converter that gave it up in mine before the trans. I have always heard that the torque converters were the weak link more so than the transmission itself. My guess is it will hold up as good as it would in front of a stock trans. It would really depend on what you were doing with it and the power going through it.

Thanks alot flowmaster40, I dont plan on 600hp but enough for a rebuild and i want to make sure the tranny is built and ready.

I bought a nice tc from hughes performance with a billet back cover and all heavy duty internals for $700

You can get a 6.0TC that has a 7.3 cover for much less..holds a 6.0 so its a great mod. JW uses a similar TC in all his builds.
