more performance

I have a 97 F-250 7.3 power stroke with 81000 miles on it. I want to try one of the performance chips like bully dog or hyper chip. Want some info on what is the best one. And any thing eles I can do to help the performance that is not to hard to do my self.

The best one would be a TW or a TS although there are many good ones out there. I dont recommend running these with out gauges though!

You need a pyro, a boost, and if you have an automatic tranny, tranny temp gauge. Then you can look into chips. Like said, a TS or TW chip will do wonders for the truck. Also opening up the intake, and doing an exhaust (and getting rid of the stock downpipe which is really restrictive).

I'd go for a chip from Bill at Power Hungry Performance - Feed your hunger for POWER! Check out our Gryphon Programmer for Ford vehicles!. Bill has been tuning longer than just about anybody and is top notch!

Dont mess with Bully Dog or Hypertech. Go with Tony Wildman, PHP, Beans, or Swamps custom tunes.

If your truck is stock you need to start with intake, exhaust including 3" DP, guages then do a custom tuned chip, there are a lot of custom tuners, I was very happy with my tuning from beans
