best airfilter for DIY CAI

ive searched on here but trying to get a quick opinion from some of you. i have a KIY CAI on my obs. but im putting an intercooler in and since im gonna have polished pipes for it, i want a polished pipe to match for my CAI. anyways i need to buy a new airfilter. i was looking at the aem dryflow, but after seeing the post on here where the guy showed his was dirtier on the inside than out....im guessing i wont get that one. i know many dislike a K&N...so what brand does everyone recommend i go with. i really like the reusable ones and there looks as well. so i really dont want to get the napa one. any input would be apreciated an i will also need it to come w/ a 4" ID as im putting a piece of 4" mandrel bent aluminum for my intake tube instead of the pvc i have now (even though its painted to match my truck.
