stage 2's
hello i am interested in doing stage 2 injectors in my 97 automatic. i have intake, exhaust, and gauges. i am wondering what turbo would be best for this, what hpop would be best, and what automatic tranny you guys recommend. i am going to do fuel system, custom tuned chip, and other neccesary supporting mods. i believe i will need head studs and an intercooler. any info appreciated. thanks.

The 17* HPOP in the Superduties will be sufficient for oil supply. Even the stock OBS one (15*) may hold up if it's in good shape. If oil delivery is insufficient, the truck will simply defuel when wound up on a hot tune, and set a DTC for HPOP pressure, you won't break anything. An intercooler will help keep the EGTs in check for sure, and is worthwhile if you plan to do lots of towing. For a turbo, you'd be looking at the D66, H2E or modified H2E. There is some debate over the need for headstuds, but installing them is good insurance. Installing Comp Camps 910 valvesprings will prevent valve float at higher boost levels as well, and can be had for under $100.00

420 and 950 +- here on OLD tunes..little more I hope once the modded H2e gets on with TW's new tunes.

I currently have 1's in mine that only have about 2000 miles on them. Ive been thinking about stage 2s but then someone told me the only difference in the 1's and 2's is a bigger nozzle, if that the case can i have mine lasered out or is there more to the 2's than that?

nope difference is that 1s use stock nozzles and 2s use a 80% or 100% over stock nozzle

I hope your transmission is up to it. As well as the rest of the drivetrain. |
