Thumbs up WANT TO UPGRADE!!

Hi,
My name is Doug, i drive a 95 ford powerstroke 7.3l it is the XLT model, auto tranny 350000KM. The truck is all stock other than the beefed up tranny that was set up for towing a big trailer by the previous owner, as well as a HUGE tranny cooler. The injectors on the truck are no good and i have e-mailed the guys at rosewood for a quote on a set of NEW stage ones. However i come to this form to ask what modifications i should also do to the truck along with the stage ones. I do plane to put in a 4’’ down pipe and a NICE set off 7’’ stacks- i plane to order the kit from XDP.com So, other than the big exhaust system what else am i to be concerned about?
(What kind of trouble will i have putting in a 4” Down pipe?)
thanx for your help

you probably will only be able to findd a 3 inch downpipe for the obs(old body syle), and putting itin is not toooo bad, you will probably have to pinch the firewall seam in to allow clearance for the pipe, but in my opinion, getting the old one out is the hardest part. Look in the writeup section about doing the diy intake too its very effective and filters better than those oil filter intakes. Then get yourself a tuner and youll be all set

Sounds like you arte off to a good start. I agree a 3" down pipe will be a big as will fit. With the new sticks you would be well advised to do an intercooler to lower your egt's. You should also invest in gauges before you do too much more. The new sticks will also support and turbo upgrade.
