turbo swap?
i was wondering if i could put a SD turbo in my 97 , will that work? any benefits?

yes you can swap to it but there's really no benifits unless you want to run the 38r ball bearing turbo

doesnt it spool up faster because it is a little smaller? and dont thoes turbos have wastegates? and cant i build one of thoes turbos pretty easily

yes it spools up a little quicker, but it will also surge like a ***** when you put a chip and or injectors on the truck. not to mention you have to find quite a bit of parts just to do the swap. you'll need manifolds, up pipes, turbo, turbo pedistal and the intake spyder then also 3" to 2" reducer boots to make the spyder work.

I have the intake runners, reducer boots and the pedistal plus a turbo but it needs rebuilt. No spider and my up-pipes are pending sale!
