i think my injectors are bad and need replaced they have 100k or more miles on them. someone suggested i rebuild them my self. i work in a machine shop and can do any machine work to them myself. i want opions on if its worth rebuilding or should i send them out? If i rebuild them where do i get the parts from? the only place i can find parts is ebay which i dont trust.
Lots of people stopped doing the rebuild kits since people would screw it up then blame the rebuild parts dealer/manufacturer. It can be done if you have the knowledge but i'd personally send them off especially if you can get a warranty and make sure they are flow matched
Do you think it will be cheaper? Do you think you can do it faster? Do you think you can do it better?
Seriously, I get this question ALL the time. Yes, good remanufactured heui injectors are not cheap. But you really need to do your homework on what you get for your money.
Ok, I know I can't do a better job than someone that does this everyday and is already setup for it. My point is, I don't want to pay for someone else's labor when I feel like I could do it myself. It's not like I'm building a truck to sled pull with or drag race. I just want to have the ability to save a little money, and get a little more performance out of my injectors. Are DIY kits so expensive that vendors can rebuild them for the same price as I could buy the parts for?
I rebuilt a set of injectors for my 96 f350 cc and got my parts from a guy MT and that the best move I ever made and it wasnt that hard it just takes time and I have way more time then money it was under 775.00 and that's 160cc with 80 tips and truck is way quieter and runs great.
