Power windows

Well my truck was involved in a wreak with a guard rail by the PO and the driver front as well as passenger rear windows wont do anything on their own. When the switches are hit you can hear the motor turning and trying to catch the gear but it wont catch and move the window.

My question is with a hard hit like that is it possible to knock the assembly out of whack where the gears don't contact each other and how can I check this? I have no expierence with window motors but if pointed in the right direction I can knock this out just need to hear from someone who has been in there and can give me a heading.

You can remove the motor insert ball bearings (I used bb's from a BB gun) in where all the broken plastic falls out , it sounds like the plastic bushing shattered

Am I right in assuming the motor assembly needs to be pulled to fix this or can I access it without pulling it.

Pull the motor, and get these:

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ier=426078_0_0_

pull the cover off, clean out the grease and broken plastic. cycle the motor a few times to get the remaining plastic bits out, and reassemble using some white lithium grease (sparingly). reinstall.

I used bb's for a bob gun honestly, they metal, no plastic to break, did this on a buddies truck, no issues yet

I used bb's once too in a pinch, but over time they will chew through the large gear, which I have yet to find a replacement for.

Haven't had that problem, guess that's why ford used plastic to begin with
