97 A/C Problems
My brother's 97 a/c will blow cold air, but when he turns the knob to max it blows the same.
Is it the control, a vacuum problem, or am I missing something? It's hot here in Texas and all help will be appreciated. |

There is a vaccum leak somewhere, because it will cause the vent from the OUTSIDE to close shut and the noise/speed of the air will be different.... Take a look under the hood for the vacuum lines, they can be black or white depending on if they have been changed in the past...should be near the passenger side.... |

I had a problem with a vacuum leak from the hose that goes to close the door to recirculate the inside air, just start the truck, turn it on normal air, the look at the position on the lever on the top of the blower area where the actuator is (should have a white vacuum line to it) and then turn on max air, and see if it moves, it should, if not pull the line and see if it is sucking air, if not you need find the leak or change the switch, mine was the line itself and ran a new one.

Thanks for the input guys, I should have posted this earlier.
It was the white vacuum hose under the hood on the actuator, had to replace about 8". My brother says thanks!!! |
