center console
What's the trick to getting the center console to fold down? Sometimes it does and other times it doesn't. There has a locking latch of some kind, but not sure where to push-pull to get it to pivot.

My truck dosn't have a latch. It goes up and down easily. There is a small plastic trim piece that covers the hinge, make sure they are not caucht up in it.

If your center console is like mine, look on the side trim on the passenger side. There should be a button that pushes up into the trim piece to release the center section.

I couldn't find that button. What year is yours and where is the button?

My truck is a 95, but after looking at the seat, I think someone had swapped seats in it. I looked at the 96 we have at work, and it is like what was described by pipelayerjdh, no latch, just raises up or lays down. You might look at the hinges, if they get crud in them, it will make them difficult to move.

I have a 97 and when mine is stuck in the up position I reach across and grab the right corner and pull it gently towards the drivers seat while pushing forward. Hope this helps, this method has always worked for me.

Maybe somebody swaped in a later model seat, if so thiers a little loop on the drivers side of the seat back, kinda like the loop on the end of a dog leash, if its thier give it a tug and the seatback will come down.

Mine does the same thing!?!?! sometimes it goes down and othertimes it wont...it gets kinda frustrating when the 3rd person is stuck outisde in the rain while I fiddle w/the darn console
I just plan ahead and leave it down now...its easier that way
