Water on floor?
I'm still learning our 'little girl' ('95 F250 XLT, we just picked her up last Tuesday!), and spent some time with her this afternoon, cleaning the interior and whatnot. I found a bunch of wet muck down on the floor in the crevice between the floor and the wall, behind the door, on both sides. The door sills look wet all around the door, but not in the center of the floor, under the dash, or by the back window.
The only thing I can think of is that the door seals didn't seal during the last rainfall we had, but if they leak with just RAIN, how will it be when it's raining while we're driving?! The door seals are all intact and reasonably pliable, and the non-opening supercab windows don't seem to have any gaps or damage to them. I did a search on "water interior door seal", and didn't come up with anything. Anyone got a suggestion? |

I just thought of something that might 'poke a hole' in the theory, so to speak: the door handle, and the door itself. The door has those weep vents at the bottom, to let water that gets past the window seals out the bottom, and the door handle is nothing but a decorative port in to the latch mechanism inside the door. Unless one were to seal all the weep vents and the door handles, it may not build up the pressure one might hope. Still, I'm going to try it; can't hurt!
