It's actually really simple to install a stereo. You need to buy a wire harness and dash kit that will fit your truck. It's about $30. You splice the wires from the new wire harness into the wire harness from the new radio, clip in your dash kit, plug the newly spliced wire harness into the truck's factory radio plugs, slide your radio in and you're done. Can be done in an hour or less.

Agreed. There are a bunch of companies selling wiring harnesses that make the installation very easy. No cutting and splicing of wires. Just plug everything together and you're done with the wiring.

You will need to make sure you specify if your truck has the premium sound option to get the correct harness adapters. On a non-premium sound truck, the harness plugs that go into the head unit will look similar (premium sound will have one that looks vastly different than the other). Cheers!

I see. My bad buddy!

I would REALLY get the $5 wiring harness so you don't cut into your factory wiring... That is a CHEAP way of doing things!!

Buy it on EBay and splice the wiring harness with your stereos wires (the colors should match)

For the harness, this place may have them Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, LCD TV, Digital Cameras

For wiring diagrams, you could join this site and ask Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers
