I just wanted to post a success story about the weak *** driver side door handle..

I broke mine @ 2 weeks ago and I looked on here and found that it is a very common problem. I went to Napa and they had one so I bought it and replaced it....

the next day I had my tires replaced and the tech broke the new handle. "wow" I thought, "what a cheap peice of%#@#@%$#"

today I went back to napa and they had a metal handle but it was for a 94 and older but it looked the same "minor exeption". I slaped that baby on and it not only fits, but works better than the plastic one.

I open my door with great vigor and confidence. I have noticed a little more attention from the ladies too.

I actually don't think it is because I only have to pull it @ 1/2 way and it opens great.....I did wonder about that thoe.....is it easy to tighten up that cable if itis?




Steve....the general age group is @63-94, but it is mostly the Tibetin women (they hold ther age better that most)(I think it is the peacefull lifestyle)

The door handles are from 80-86 f-series (metal ones) I went to a pick a part type salvage yard around here and I got 4 handles for about 8 bucks I am in the process of getting them stripped and then powdercoated similar to toreador red or black

Do you have the Napa part #? Mine broke a while back and i replaced it, but now that i fixed the stretchered cable it works nice but id like the have the part number for the next time

I don,t have a # but if you go to Napa and just take a close look at the handles you can see which one works.

What needs to be done to tighten up the cable????
