refurb cab interior - molded carpets, etc

I'm looking at redoing the interior on my 97 F350 7.3 super cab dually. Factory colors are grey carpet and cloth seats, both are looking pretty dingy, although no rips. I'm thinking I'd go with dark green to go with the dark tourmaline exterior, plus it would hide dirt and stains better.

Internet search shows molded carpets are available from numerous of places, for around $140. Anybody have recommended vendors? Installation war stories? Gotchas to watch out for? Brands or vendors to stay away from? Is the more expensive "mass backing" premium worth it? Does it make $$ sense to redo the acoustic insulation layers as well?

I also have looked at "custom" seat covers online, but I think I would just as soon pay a local shop to redo the seats using the existing cloth as the pattern. If you've had this done, how much did it run you?

I've got a set of blue seats I need to be gray.

Denton, TX

I envy those that know exactly which modification to make and in the most logical of sequences. But not enough to trade for my meanderings and misfires.

1996 F250 crew cab/short bed, 4x4, auto PSD, 6637 air filter, interior grab handles, stainless window vents, remote door locks work with engine running mod.
