08 center Console install

I picked up a 08 center console the other day to replace my center jump seat. I thought there was a thread on here some where about the install. I haven't been able to find it. Does anyone have a link to it?

what kind of 08 center console did you get?
the full console with floor shifter or the small one from a super-duty with only cup holders?

The short console is easy...just unbolt center seat and bold down console.

It does not have the floor shifter. Its just the basic console out of a 08 Super duty. I didnt realize that it would bolt in with no modification. I thought I read some where I had to mod the brackets to make it work in a OBS. Now if I could just find a grey lid for a decent price I would be in business. Thanks!

when I did mine, I didn't use the brackets. I just bolted directly to the seat rails (the metal frame thing that holds all 3 the seat sections). I did have to use a spacer under the rear of the console to level everything (But the trade off is that I didnt have to cut the console in any way).

I attached 2 pics (1 mine 1 from someone else on here. I didnt cut mine and iirc he cut his) so you can see how they compare.
Mine is with the herculined floor. It sits a little higher than if you cut the console and use brackets. For me being 6ft 5in, it was the perfect heigth for my elbow/arm to rest.
His rig is also an F250 vs my F350. I wouldn't imagine that it changes anything but it's worth mentioning...just in case.

Yours sits much higher, not sure if I could rock it that high, I'm 6'5 but I guess I have really long arms lol, install looks great tho, and yours is crew cab compared to his super cab, so the seat pan in yours is also not in the other rig pictured, so it would sit much higher on that

I think the lower one would be more comfortable for me. Ill have to test fit it and see when the weather warms up a bit.

I think his name is oasis04 that has the 08 console in his white crew cab with a 5 speed. He may chime in. I could not have a console that high, but i like that its level..

Ya I hear you. I think that second pic of the lowered one would be a good fit for me. Thats just looking at a pic though. I really the amount of storage and decent cup holders that the newer consoles have.
