A lot of times, you can find an exterior & interior color code from your vehicle's VIN. Some credible Ford dealerships can help you out with this. I read an article on how to decipher Ford VINs, but to my dismay, I lost the issue of that Ford magazine(dunno if I can mention the mag name on this forum.)Get your VIN and try to find someone on the forum that can help or knows someone who could help.

Thanks for the info. I have recently found out the color code is on the sticker on the inside of drivers door, or the sticker may be in the door jam.

well, i called sherwin williams, to see if they could color match. of coarse they wanted the color code. on my sticker, under int, rv4. he said that was not the correct code, there should be a sticker/ tag hooked to the drivers seat underneath, to a spring. no luck there. he also said there were 3 different color codes for 96...he rattled them off, and i told him ok, three colors....grey, red(burgandee), and blue...which one was which... i need the blue. he got stumped, and started mumbling. I told him thanks for the help, he was obviously the manager!!! and hung up!!! WOW

thanks raul, I'll look into it.
I contacted ford help via email...sent a reply that they are looking into it for me. Called another place local, they said to bring the ashtray in, and they could match it. |

Well, here I go again with color codes. Ford says the code is kv. I looked in a dupli color book, and they listed it as a ke. Both color names are the same...Lapis (royal blue). As my luck runs, no one makes the exact match in a aresol. I went to O Rileys, and they color matched from the ashtray. Actually mixed a dye, instead of paint, and then told me for a couple bucks more, they could put it in an aresol can for me. I decided not to go aresol. After cleaning the ashtray, and the new "a" pilliar gauge mount, I proceeded dying them. I couldnt belive that the color was a dead on match. I like the color so well, most likly to redye all the plastic interior parts. THANKS O Rileys!!!
