Seat belt problem 97 350 crew

Drivers side seat belt buckle is not locking into the buckle. New assembly from ford is $183.00. Anybody have any experience with this issue, know any work around?

Thanks,

Tony

Junkyard? Have you checked to see if anything is lodged in there?

seat belt fix

I have looked inside the buckle, didn't see anything. I think it may be worn out. Have you ever heard of a way to recondition just the buckle? One reason ford is so high is the middle seat strap is included in the package. Hate to have to replace it all.

Checked all local junk yards. None available in any color. Was hoping to find my color. Gray.

That buckle is actually in a lot of different vehicles, length may be an issue but I could charge you cash pull one from a yard here ship it and still make money, you should check craigslist for someone parting out broncos and f-150 through f-superdutys kause that would be very cheap for ya

Have you tried a little penetrating oil into the latch?
