97 crew cab speaker size

What size are the rear speakers on a OBS crew cab? 5x7? Is it possible to squeeze a 6x9? I'm looking at replacing them.

They are 5x7s but I do know that Rockford Fosgate makes a 5x8 (P1683) that will fit perfect and sounds pretty good to. I don't think that a 6x9 would fit without modification to the cab.

You can also get plates to run a normal 5 or 6 inch speaker. They're also easy to make from some plate steel if you're handy.

Amazon usually has the best deals, but I say go in to a shop and listen before you decide. Different speaker designs can have very different sounds.

I get all of my stereo equipment here. I just stopped shopping around after finding them the cheapest every time, and great service.
