Power Lock Remote programming

Hey guys,

I bought one of those remotes off Ebay just because, when I bought my truck, I was told that it had keyless remotes, but they had been lost, dealer never did send any to me, so for the 15.00 I got one and figured it would be sweet if I could make it work, trouble is I can'd find these programming pins at the base of the steering column that I am supposed to cross to cycle the locks.

Any pointers???? Thanks everyone.

It should be a a two-pin connector gray/yellow and white/yellow wires, either below the instrument cluster, or near the door dinger/storage pocket.

Do you have anymore info on programming the keyless? I can't find anything online that even shows crossing the pins.

The key fob box is under the dash behind the lower panel pocket hole. Key off, find the two pin connector and jump it, turn the key on to ACC, the locks will lock and unlock letting you know the module is in programing mode, press any button on the remote and the locks should lock and unlock letting you know its programed. pull your connector out and the turn the key off and your ready to go! hope this helps anyone

Excuse my lack of electrical knowledge, but how do you "jump" the pins? Is it a piece of wire you touch to each pin? Do you switch the grey/yellow and white/yellow wires??

Just use a piece of wire/paperclip/coin/etc to connect the two terminals to each other.

I used a small paperclip. Worked like a charm. That was really the first upgrade I did to my truck. The PO lost all of the remotes, as well as the original keys - only had one crappy aftermarket key. I got NOS blanks and a matched pair of remotes from eBay and got her done.

how would i know if my truck actually did have keyless entry from the factory? PO never said anything about it and he bought it used, also has a rebuilt title kause the bed got smashed and obviouly was replaced and not painted well. but i like the keyless entry on my other car just kind of wondered if i had factory or do i just need to go buy a system and install it all

alberta 7.3 has a good thread to determine if you have the remote module or not. My truck didn't come with key fobs so this helped me to find out if I had the capability to buy some used fobs and hook them up ( which I haven't yet ).
