Grab Handles Installed

I bought 3 94 explorer handles on eBay a while back and finally installed them today. I don't have the paint yet so they're maroon while my interior is gray but now that the install is done, it's only two fasteners per handle to take em off so no big deal. Just thought I'd share since I know this is a big thing for us OBS guys.

Looks good. I get tired of having passengers complaining about the lack of grab handles. I need to get me some. Post pics when you get them painted.

I guess its just a coincidence that an Aggie gets the maroon handles.

Is the trim panel strong enough to support them? Any movement when you pull hard?
Any idea what other year explorer handles would work?

Looks like a very worthy addition!!!

Thank you-

The handles only mount through the trim. When I take em off to paint em I'll show you the holes I made and such. They mount through a strip of reinforcement aluminum that I screwed into the frame in 4 places each. They seem strong enough. I wouldn't trust factory handles to hold all 190 pounds of me so I don't expect these to either but they're plenty strong to hoist from and don't move at all.

I'll get yall some pics once I get em painted!

Subscribed - I want to see how you anchored them down to the frame.

Why paint them - color looks good to me!

Have you had a chance to take any pics of your install on the handles? I would really like to see what you have done. There are so many different ways to do this and I have not seen a process that I like yet.

Are they holding up well? Since it has been some time now that you have been using them - is there any improvements that you would make?
