Pre-Powerstroke Interior Swap

I have an 88' XLT Crew Cab with the horrible red interior and am wondering if the interior out of a 94-98 rig will fit? What mounts right up and what doesn't? I want to replace the door panels and dash with new version.

i know its been done before you are going to have to modify some wiring and i believe a few mounting points but its definetly been done before, best get a donor truck so you have all the parts.

The wiring is no problem. When you say mounts must be modified are you referring to the dash mounts or door panel mounts or both? If the door panels are the same outside dimension I'm hoping I can just drill whatever new holes are required for the interior clips can be done with it.

A donor truck would be nice but I am hoping I can just slowly piece it together from junk yards/ classifieds and paint the new panels/ dash to match.

im not really sure exactly whats involved, if you go over to oilburners.net and look in the idi section over there, a few guys have done this conversion as well as ford truck enthusiasts forum. i remember reading a few posts a while back where people did this swap and it wasnt to bad if i recall
