Seat Belt Source?

The driver's seat belt latch is broken. Either it pops loose while you're driving, or it sticks shut and you have to jiggle it a couple of minutes to get loose.

Am I going to be forced to visit local junk yards?

That is probably your cheapest bet.

Grab one from the passenger side or from the back seat, it should have less wear than the one from the drivers seat. It might not be 100% the same, but it shouldnt be too hard to make it close.
