door lock mechanism

Both my driver's side doors need new locking mechansims - by mechanism, I mean the cable control where the handle attaches and the latch part with the lock shaft coming out of it.

Talked to my local dealer parts guy and he said he could get the whole setup for $110 per door. Does anyone know of any other place to get these two parts, or the whole system within the door cheaper?

My main problem is that the front door doesn't seem to unlatch the lock completely, so I have to both jerk the handle up and shove the door open at the same time to get it open. The rear door seems like the lock shaft is bent because it is really hard to pull up to unlock and feels like it moves in an arc within the door.

Is you problem is it will not open from the inside or the outside? I know you can adjust the tension for the outside but I can't remember what the inside adjustment looks like.

The front door is hard to open from the inside. I have to pull up on the handle and push the door out at the same time to get it to open. I pulled the panel off and looked at the mechanisms and it just seems that the cable has gotten some slack in it somehow. The lock shaft goes up when I pull the handle, but just enough so that the door is still locked when the handle is completely pulled.

The rear door is just hard to pull the lock shaft up.

Try some spray lithium grease. It is worth a try before spending that kind of money.
