tranny swap?
ok heres the deal i have a 95 with a 5-spd and the syncros in 1st and second are pretty much shot and getting it into reverse can be a real pain, the question is do i just rebuild the tranny or am i better off spending the money on a upgrade?
i generally think along the lines of if you have to replace somthing you may as well upgrade. so i'm just wondering if anyone has done a 6-spd or a nv 3550 swap or should i go with a C-6 or is there a stand alone computer for an overdrive auto? i am not really partial to the standard or auto and i am mechanically inclined, but i don't want to do alot of work for no benefit. the truck is my daily driver and i also tow regularly with it and i offroad pretty hard, so i need something strong and reliable. any help and/or comments are welcome i just want some more opinions before i make a decision. thanks |
