newbie just bought 97 ccsb 7.3

I just bought a 97 ccsd 2wd auto powerstroke. Only known mods are a edge tuner and a knn filter. I am going to check the exhaust out to see the size of it.

I think from all I've read I will get a 6637 on the way to replace the knn.

I'd like to do a egt gauge but am unsure about drilling into the exhaust. I worry about the pieces hitting the turbo.


Then how hard is it really to do a down pipe?

Down pipe isn't bad just have a good sawzall blade to cut it. As far as drilling the manifold do it with the truck idling it will help push the pieces of metal out instead of them getting inside

Just bend the pinch weld with a very large and sturdy bar, and stuff and twist the new one in

Ditch the edge before you eat the trans

Seems odd for a big name to make a product that will eat up trans. What causes this?

Bad shift strategy, and line pressures I'd assume, I've eaten a Trans with one, and so have several others, look for a TS chip with custom tuning or the php hydra with multiple tuners,

Just Kause you've heard of them before you got a diesel, doesn't make them the to to people on a diesel, they make products for everything with obd2, I'd try them on a mustang with a stick shift, but once your into the "diesel scene" you know to who the real big players are, and how to make bigger power then pretty boxes and false claims

Ive seen edge in many diesels... seems as though they weren't in psds though. Suppose I can ebay it. What about the ts chip with the ts tunes?
