Maryland State Inspection woes

I just got my truck inspected at a local Mr Tire in Mt airy who someone said was pretty fair. Well far from that they really put the screws to me. they are saying my tires are the incorrect range, I have new E range 305 70 R16 and they also say they are too big. These are the exact same tires on my truck now which they say are too big and are rubbing, I just dont see it. I asked if i could put smaller tires in front and keep the rears but they said NO ALL MUST BE EXACT SAME SIZE, I just dont understnad that one, they said they must be what came on truck new. Weird. They also had a list of many other Bulls__t items (sticker on windsheild) i forgot to remove, You would think they know i am not made of money or i would have a brand new truck or at least one that was nicer than what I could afford but no lets get as much $ out of this poor-a_s construction worker as we can. I probably will not be able to afford to fix everything so I do not know what I am going to do in 30 days when my temp registration expires and my truck is not inspected. Does anyone know what my options are? Thanks

Tires - get on craigslist and find a set of old steelies, and some old 235/85s that someone is dumping in order to upgrade. Stash in shed/garage/yard. Swap onto truck for inspection day.

That sucks ... I live in rural Missouri. We too have inspections but the small garages around my parts don't give a **** whats on the truck or what doesn't work. They look at the odometer, write up the slip, and I then pay $10.

If you were in Va I'd tell you to try a different station, not sure how militant they are there.

I'd try a different station. But the other place may get you for other stuff....

I'd swap tires with a friend for a day or two to get it through inspection

pretty stringent probably the hardest state to get inspected in. however you only have to do it once.

you could always try another station. my truck passed MD inspection years ago with 33" on it.

unfortunately brad that is the old list the new list as of a month ago has

(21) - Drivers Seat
Mounting and Operation

MD was a PITA before, it's even worse now. they see a speck of rust on teh brake lines instant fail, require all new brake lines. only thing we have going for us is once you pass inspection it never needs to be inspected again. you can even go father mother to child or child to mother/father without inspection so long as the car stays in state. i will say you can try another inspection station, some inspectors are more *** hatty (new word) than others.

the tire one is BS no where does it specify in the inspection about size
