4 inch is supposed to be more high pitched/ scream some more with more whistle 5 inch is said to be more throaty growl. no pics as I am still stock exhaust. and please if you are going to do a tip make sure you can only see the end of the tip and not where it reduces down only cummins boys do that :

Axel --> 16yo
96 CCLB srw. built E4OD, Diy E-fuel, Autometer gauges
4:10 lsd, Toyo M55 on stock steelies

Future plans include diy Traction bars, and zf5 swap.

Actually, look around on All the forums to see its a universal thing, their on all trucks. You can't see where my 5" pipe ends and my 8" tip begins on my cumminGs

Well just so you know theres absolutely little to no performance gains over 3 inches because thats as big as the dp will be on any kit. Other than that its all for looks. Personally 4 inches looks about right, 5 inch is getting into redneck/cummins territory but there is a slight sound difference and a tip thats bigger than 1 inch over your exhaust size is redneck/cummins all the way.

My 66mm has a 5" exhaust side, so I run a 5" TBE. The 8" tip along with 5" exhaust was free.
Generally the exhaust tip rule is 2" bigger than your exhaust.
With my 4" lift, 35s my tip looks proportional.

Talking about redneck ish stuff, how big are your tires on the white truck????

I've seen a lot if things in my time. People who think their "opinions" matter to others, doesn't matter to me. I've been around this stuff longer than most mods on the forums

44's > 8" tip

as said OP , anything over 3" is no gain besides tone , bigger you go more deeper it gets

5" is deeper sounding, both have same amount of whistle,

Agreed on 2"+ tip, but 1"+ looks fine too

Yep you got me, my truck is all redneck complete with the confederate flag in the back window, 8 inch stacks, and 20 bucks worth of beer can empties in the back.

I too have seen a fair amount of things in my (without a doubt shorter) time and a lot of people thinking they know everything about the subject because they "have been around the stuff." I have been around food my whole damn life...doesn't make me a food connoisseur.

Anyway opinions are like a-holes...etc etc let the guy take what he wants from OUR opinions so he can form his own opinion not just yours.
