there are only three brands of filters that are worth a %$#@, Wix, which also makes carquest and napa golds, motorcraft, and baldwin. the rest are junk, in fact in flow testing and micron filtration, K&n oil filters were one of the worst

I go with motorcraft. I've heard from too many that it's the best filter for my 99 psd...

Oh I have used my fair share of motorcraft. especially on my old high mileage commuter, you know the motorcraft is cheaper. But I still feel that WIX is the best, I would be interested to hear from someone who has done a cut comparision.
namebrand filters that will never touch my ride: Fram, purolater, K&N........
ok I guess it is either Motorcraft or WIX for me

i saw a flow and cutdown test on all the major manufacturers in a hot rod magazine. they said that k&n and fram were the worst of all major brands, and WIX, Motorcraft, and Baldwin were the top three with no measurable difference between any of them (the WIX racing filter rated tops, but is not reccomended for use in normal street motors since it filters so fine that a high flow oil pump is needed to make it work efficiently without hitting the bypass)

Well I do not use Fram anymore since about 4 years ago but I will tell you this. We have used Pennzoil 10w40 and Fram filters on our 5.0 motors for around 10 years until they come out with the new design that has the black stuff on the bottom. That is when they become known to split. We had over 120k on a 5.0 motor that was drove very hard and raced very hard and I promise you the motor looked just a good inside as the day we built it. So from personal experience I will say that I do not see a problem using these filters as they have proven there self in the past. I just do not prefer them.

We no longer use Penzoil since Shell bought them. We do not use Fram since the new design. We now use Motorcraft and Castrol in the motor. With the new 331 we will use Motorcraft and Royal Purple. I would no longer use Penzoil or Fram either. I was just saying in the past they were not really bad.

use fram on every thing EXCEPT the stroker. fram oil filters wont stay on the psd for some reason. i believe the o-rings are diffrent. so it gets a motorcraft. motorcaft fuel filter too. napa air filter.
