Mechanical Direct Injection

Has anyone ever heard of someone making a powerstoke mechanical direct injection. I have been talking to a guy who runs a 1200 HP+ gasser pulling truck in the NTPA, and he just happens to run a local machine shop. He is confident he can make a 7.3 push 1200hp, with ungodly torque just by settin it up like his alchohol burner, but with a turbo insted of a blower and runnin higher compression, with mechanical injection.... makes sence... wondering if anyone has ever heard the likes.
