Might be a good idea to find a wrecked '05 reg cab gasser and set the '86 body on it.

Good luck with that. JY's here want an arm and a leg for ANYTHING 05+

I got lucky and found two junkyards LOCAL, that had 06 trucks. And the one place told me the only reason it was in there, was because they had a wrecked truck that they wanted the cab for.

So I took the axles, and I got lucky since they were still in the truck, they unbolted EVERYTHING, and even gave me the bolts, and they even unbolted the brake lines, instead of cut. Ill DEFINATELY go back to them again.

But, Matt, I have an 06 Frame, 142" wheel base, with the coil buckets and radius arm brackets missing lol Ill sell it to ya if you want haha. Im sure you can use the coil buckets off the 86, and you CAN buy the radius arm brackets from ford yet.

And the grille inserts on the fenders look great!

That's with the crap springs still in. New springs and RSK makes it 3" over stock (an inch or two lower than the pic.) I'm planning on 35's if I can find some for a good price.
I too love the glove mod! and why not just wait for Pro Comp to do their buy three get one free promotion, they do one yearly.

Dana 60's are getting hard to find. The only ones that are a bolt-in are the 87-97. Then worry about gear ratios, brackets, etc. I got my axle for $1000.00 with the correct ratio, but from a 79 that was in excellent condition, so lots of things had to be altered. Any OBS D60 around here goes for 1500-2000, 98% have the 4.10, I need 3.54. By the time I'm done, I'll have the 3" lift, new front and rear springs, and a rebuilt front axle for a total of 2500ish.

I have both sets, 3:55 and 4:10. 3:55's are installed, and the 4:10's are New Take Outs.

Needs the inner axle seals replaced, which I have, and needs bearings, hubs, and probably new rotors. I've been throwing the idea around of selling it, but only for the right price.

But, your allllll the way across the USA :/

Yeah, your not kidding there, I got stupid lucky with mine, I found a 79, bought it, and traded it straight up for the 86 one I have now.

Yeah, the guy almost kissed your butt too. The 78/79 are highly sought after by the off-road community for swaps into jeep and ford products with a DS pumpkin. They are preffered for swaps over the later models since the driver's tube is 2.5" longer, making it easier to mount coil points for a coil setup. Or use the 31.5" spring perches for narrower mid-size frames.
