Kinda Nervous

Alright so I bought my truck with 70,000 miles on it and I've ran a superchips first and then a tw for about 16,000 miles. Both tuners/chips were always on the extreme settings. I have gauges and the pyro never got above 1200 and the boost stayed below 20psi and I'm not sure about the tranny because the gauge hasn't worked since I got it. I'm returning the truck back to the stock tuning because money's tight and I cant afford to fix anything if it breaks on the truck. I was just wondering if there was any serious risk of damage or wear and tear on the engine while the tuner was on? Any help would be great, thanks. BTW the truck runs fine I'm just being paranoid and just wondering if adding those tuners would have shortened the life of the engine by any chance with the lope idle/extreme settings and everything. you should be fine as long as you didnt run it hard all the time. i say leave it on but drive it respectable and it will still be fine.

I didn't run it hard all the time, just once in awhile. I'll still keep it but I'm just going to leave it off for now.

oh your fine then. most chips/tuners are safe for our trucks as long as you dont abuse them. just like anything else. drive it hard and something will give. i run my truck on extreme race/n20 setting all the time except for winter. never had a issue. and i drive my truck kinda hard. just watch the gauges and youll be fine.

Yea I kept a close eye on my gauges, it just made me a little nervous that my trans gauge doesn't work and something smelled like it was burning under my truck one night racing around on extreme

yea that's true, drives fine to me though? Just hearing the stories about people blowing up their rigs with tuners made me kind of nervous
