4r100 swap

So what does it take to swap the 4r100 I believe it is(the newer trannys in the 99-03 7.3) into our obs?

pretty much the same thing the only differnce i know is it has a drain plug on the pan. lol idk other than that

i think the 4r100 is just a heavy duty version of the e40d with overdrive added to it.

Er.. e4od means Electronic 4-speed Over Drive. the 4r100 is very similar on the outside, but I don't know about whether or not it will plug right in as a replacement. They have the same pan. filter, valve body, tail shaft housing, etc. I don't know about the internal parts. Also, some body mentioned that the 4r100 has a drain plug, but the e4od does not. This is not true. If your truck came with a "deep pan" (both e4od and 4r100)it has a drain, if you got the shallow pan you don't get one. the 4r100 also comes with a shallow pan on some trucks.

i am getting tired and have no idea why i put "over drive added to it". i do know better, but i guess not tonight. lol

E4OD is an overdrive trans I believe. E=Electronic, 4=4 speed, OD=OverDrive.

so i wounder if I can just drop a 4r100 in with no mods??? a 4r100 has an extra gear doesnt it. Thats mainly why I want it if so
