new gpr?

i had recently had to run a starter solenoid as a gpr , just put in a new motorcraft one and when i turn the key on the battery gauge is low and it cranks slow , new starter is on so i know its not that , im assuming my batteries are low because the glow plugs are now getting the correct amps with the correct gpr , is this right? , the truck fires up and runs great with the help of some wd 40

i drove it and got it up to operating temps , shut it off then try to restart it and it wont fire , it wants to but wont , also with this new gpr iv noticed it turns over slower then it did with the starter solenoid on , any thoughts

Starter relay grounds through the mounting base, so it's active at all times when the key is in RUN when connected in the glow plug circuit. It is also NOT rated for continuous duty. Do NOT use it for a glow plug relay. You'll either burn the relay itself out, or if it lasts, you'll be running the glow plugs constantly.

Or running the relay that way burned up the glow plugs.

bought new batteries , new starter , new alt , all the fuses under the hood were good , i need to get one of the big black ones as i assume its bad anyways with the relay plugged in , the battery gauge shoots up , then way down , with it off the battery gauge goes higher and cranks over a little bit faster , im gonna check under the valve covers and see if theres a short or something

You can use a GPR as a starter relay, but not the other way around.
I know this cuz I did it for 3 months, when my starter relay left me stranded.
