7.3 died in driveway

7.3 died in driveway now has no power anywhere no lights, won't turn over, no radio, no nothing. Dome light is one when door is open when you turn key on dome light goes very dim. Any ideas? bad ignition? when it died i couldn't turn it off with the key. batteries are good and no blown fuses.

Make sure you check all the grounds from the batteries to the engine/frame. If you haven't done so already maybe have the batteries load tested?

Automatic or manual transmission?

When you turn the key to RUN, does the WTS light come on for the usual amount of time?

If the WTS light doesn't come on, and given what happened trying to shut it down, I'd say either the ignition switch is bad, or the actuator that connects the key cylinder to the ignition switch is out of whack.

Dome light shouldn't go on at all, though. Check to make sure the dimmer adjustment on the headlight switch isn't cranked over past the click stop for the dome light.

Test - PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL (so you don't run yourself over), key out, put a jumper between the two big terminals on the starter relay. If the starter cranks, then your batteries and starter are good. Or, alternately, put a small jump wire from the battery + to the small terminal on the starter relay. Then if it cranks, then you know it's all good, including the relay.

dome light comes on if the door is open...i'll check the starter that way as well. If it is all good i guess i'm looking at a bad ignition? But would that explain why the lights won't even come on?

You mean the headlights don't work? "Lights" doesn't tell us much.

starter and starter relay were good put direct power to relay and it whipped over........battery grounds were good then i look at a ground driverside firewall is melted to ****.....turns out this is the headlights i pinched it together and lights came on....is this a main wire harness ground or something that would affect the ignition, starter, etc? If so i just have to fix it and i should be good pending i find and fix whatever caused it.
