Solid axle question

I have a 97 f-250 with a solid axle up front. Is that factory? If I want to purchase a lift do I need to let the manufactuer know its a solid axle?

lucky you. its definately been changed to the dana 60. i am pretty sure you will need to order a kit for an f-350 now
