Turbo Help...

Well, upon trying to taking the turbine housing apart I chipped this connector housing (don't know the exact name). Any options on getting the bastard off the turbine housing (exhaust side). Also, where to get the new part or possible fix...

You need a wedge. My buddy did the exact same thing & couldn't find a center housing so he had to buy a new (used) turbo.

There is no salvaging the housing or finding used? Using a weld or something on the housing a possible fix, just trying to brainstorm as a new turbo is not what I have in mind.

Now I am not saying you couldn't find one used! He tried to weld it together but it didn't hold. He just didn't have the time to try to find a used one, so he bought a used turbo. Now if you have time to look for one & let your truck have some downtime. I'm sure you can find one.

Damn that's a pain in the ***, I used a wedge and a pry all the around with no luck and probably used more force than I should have, still not getting it off. Any other options

Don't think I have ever seen one so stuck. With all 4 bolts out of the turbine housing clamp the turbine to the table at the collector port (flat side). then twist the center section about half an inch back and forth. once it's moving just pull perpendicular to the housing and the two will, eventually slide apart. Soot gets in between the heat shield and center section (inside the turbine) and "glues" the two parts together. I've used a strap wrench on the center section before.

I tried working my way around it and lightly tapping and nothing budged. It's like there is a heavy duty adhesive holding it together. Is it possible to get the turbine shaft out before the center housing comes out? I don't think it is, but I figure I'd ask. This thing is really on there, which sucks. I feel like I am going to mess up the shaft trying to get it apart.
